Public reading
You can read the public articles, stories, historical timeline and resources without creating an account. The website's own code does not include third-party analytics, advertising trackers, external font downloads or public comment forms.
Account registration
If you request an account, we store the handle and email address you provide, a securely hashed password, an account status, the date your account was created and the messages you submit if approved. The email address is visible to the SysOp in the administration panel but not to other members. The system does not automatically verify email ownership or send marketing messages.
Private message board
Topics and posts are accessible to approved members and administrators, not to the public. Members see each other's handles and messages. Do not treat a private forum as an encrypted personal journal; avoid publishing passwords, sensitive personal data or private communications belonging to others. The SysOp can moderate or delete posts and disable accounts.
Cookies and security records
A necessary session cookie keeps you logged in and supports form security. The application stores hashed IP identifiers for recent failed login attempts and registration rate limits; these records are automatically pruned by normal login or registration activity. Your hosting provider may separately keep conventional web-server access logs under its own policies.
Retention, changes and questions
Forum content and member accounts are retained until the SysOp removes or changes them. Routine website or protected file-storage backups may persist for a separate period determined by the site operator and hosting configuration. Members can change their own passwords on the account page. If you want a post reviewed or need an account correction or deletion, contact the SysOp through the member forum or through contact details supplied by the site operator. Account recovery and automated deletion tools are not included in this release.
About historical materials
When sharing a piece of computing history, please respect living people's privacy. An old BBS message may include a real name, phone number or email address; age alone does not make that information safe to republish. Share only materials you have permission to publish.
Site content is informational and this page describes the features shipped with the website. The operator should review and adapt the notice for the actual hosting arrangements and applicable law before launch.
